Earn Miles
How many Miles will you earn?
With Air France or KLM, the number of Miles you earn depends on how much you spend (excluding government-imposed taxes and fees) as well as your Flying Blue level.
- Explorers earn 4 Miles for each Euro spent.
- Silver members earn 6 Miles for each Euro spent.
- Gold members earn 7 Miles for each Euro spent.
- Platinum members earn 8 Miles for each Euro spent.
You've purchased an Air France ticket for €1,000.
Let's imagine that you're an Explorer: you earn 4 Miles for each Euro spent, or 4 x €700 = 2,800 Miles. Provide your Flying Blue number during booking and the Miles will automatically be added to your Miles & XP counter, 24 hours after your flight.
Did you purchase a Seat or Baggage Option? You can also earn Miles that match the amount you’ve spent!
If you buy your ticket with a currency other than the Euro: we'll do the conversion at the time of your purchase. This allows us to calculate how many Miles you'll be able to earn.

Don't give up on your trip because you don’t have enough Miles. Starting from the month of June, you’ll be able to pay for part of your reward ticket in Euros with Miles & Cash.
Gain XP
Experience Points, or XP, open the door to the next Flying Blue level.
You have 12 months to collect enough XP to advance to a higher level or maintain your current status.
You can also gain XP with your Flying Blue credit card and Discount pass.
- With 100 XP, you become Silver.
- With 180 XP, you go from Silver to Gold.
- With 300 XP, you go from Gold to Platinum.

You're travelling in the Economy cabin between Paris and New York: you gain 10 XP.
