Quimper's Museum of Fine Arts offers a bright and modern setting, renowned for the various Breton-inspired collections it carries. As the cities of Nancy and Clermont-Ferrand did before, it welcomes a series of major artworks from the Orsay Museum collections for the summer, with the key exhibition “Self-portraits from the Orsay Museum”.
Exhibits of famous painters like Gauguin, Van Gogh, Courbet and Cézanne, as well as lesser-known artworks, will offer a pictorial exploration of the self-portrait exercise, confronting major art movements, from the beginnings of modern painting, encompassing impressionism, symbolism and naturalism. Another look at the artworks of a major Parisian museum, beyond its walls.
