Hot-air ballooning over the Wadi Rum

Hot-air ballooning over the Wadi Rum

Explore the desert on horseback, camel, or in a 4x4, but if you want to have a bird's-eye view, choose a hot-air balloon.

Wadi Rum: if that name is familiar to you, it's because this desert moonscape has been so popular among science-fiction filmmakers for the last 30 years. The granite cliffs and ochre sand in, for example, Ridley Scott's The Martian convey a sense of timelessness and surrealism.
Hot-air ballooning in the Wadi Rum is a must when travelling in Jordan. The flights take place at sunrise when the winds are favourable and the light softer. To view this breathtaking panorama, travellers can take a one-hour, two-hour or three-hour flight. Flights are available from April to June and from September to December. Indulge!
