Baieta, when Nice blows over Paris

Baieta means "kiss" in Mediterranean dialect. Trendy and brimming with surprises, this address carries its name well!

Youngest starred-chef in France, Julia Sedefdjian just opened her first restaurant with the help of two colleagues amid the 5th arrondissement in Paris. Their Mediterranean-influenced cuisine is comforting, gracious and refined. The menu changes with every season, but signature dishes always remain, especially the Bouillabaieta, a take on the traditional fish soup that incorporates rouille and croutons. On the sweet side, the coconut-pineapple financier topped with lime and accompanied with a mango-passion fruit sorbet is the talk of the town.
The chic and elegant decoration exhibits clear-coloured walls, while others display white stones. A pencilled drawing representing the three managers dresses the main dining room. Nearby, a gigantic rum cellar is on sight and brings some warmth to the premises. Friendliness and cheerfulness are to be expected when you go to Baieta!
