1. How can I enrol in the Flying Blue programme ?
You can enrol directly online: www.airfrance.com or www.klm.com
As soon as the process has been validated, you will be assigned your membership number, which you can use for your next booking. You will receive your Ivory membership card when your first Miles are credited to your account.
Enrolment forms can also be found on Air France / KLM desks, in airports or in the in-flight magazines. Just fill in the form, sign it and send it to Flying Blue.

2. Can I enrol my children?
Yes, any child over 2 years old can register to Flying Blue.

3. I am a new member, and I am still waiting for my card. When will I receive it?
Your Flying Blue Ivory card is sent out as soon as the first airline activity is credited on your account.
Please note that no Flying Blue card will be sent before June 15th.

4. Will I get a bonus for my enrolment?
If you fly with Air France or KLM within 6 months after your enrolment date, you will get a 3.000 Award Mile Bonus

5. What to do if I do not want to become a member of the new Flying Blue programme?
You don’t have to become a member of Flying Blue and you can continue to benefit from the old programme (Fréquence Plus or Flying Dutchman) during a period of 6 months from the date of launch of the Flying Blue programme.
Nevertheless, you will not benefit from all the advantages of the new programme. And in that case you have 6 months to use all your Fréquence Plus or Flying Dutchman Miles.

If you do not wish to become a member of the new programme, please write to your Customer Service Centre, as soon as possible, because otherwise you will automatically become a Flying Blue member.

6. I have lost my PIN code: what shall I do?
You can claim for a new PIN code directly online (www.airfrance.com or www.klm.com).
Or you can also contact your Customer Service Centre, by mail or fax. You will then receive your PIN code by post within 2 weeks.

7. There is a misspelling in my name: how can I correct it?
For misspellings, or if you have changed your name, send a letter to your Customer Service Centre, along with an ID proof.

8. I have received 2 different Flying Blue cards. What shall I do?
If you have received 2 different cards, just send a copy of both cards to your Customer Service Centre, which will merge your accounts. You will of course keep all your Miles accumulated on both accounts.

You can change your address and contacts online (www.airfrance.com or www.klm.com).
You can also contact your Customer Service Centre by mail or fax.

10. My card has been stolen: what can I do?
Just inform your Customer Service Centre (Internet, mail, or fax), and a new card will be created. You will of course keep all your accumulated Miles.

You can ask for a duplicate card by email on Air France and KLM websites, by regular mail or by fax to your Customer Service Centre.

12. I still have a voucher for a non airline partner, an upgrade or an excess baggage. Is this voucher still valid with the new programme?
Yes. The voucher’s validity remains the same.

13. Once the new program has started, will it be possible to modify a Fréquence Plus or Flying Dutchman award ticket?
Yes, Fréquence Plus or Flying Dutchman award tickets can still be modified after Flying Blue launch.

14. What is an eligible flight?

Here are the eligible flights is a flight that entitle you to earn Award Miles :

  • All Air France and KLM flights
  • All SkyTeam flights operated by SkyTeam or an airline partner
  • All flights operated by an airline partner.

    Examples:

Air France operating flight = Yes
KLM flight operated by Air France = Yes
Northwest Airlines flight operated by KLM = Yes
Delta Airlines flight operated by Aeromexico = Yes
Air France flight operated by Japan Airlines = Yes
KLM flight operated by Air Alps = Yes
Air France flight operated by Air Mauritius = No
Japan Airlines flight operated by Air New Zealand = No.

15. What shall I do to get an automatic credit of my Miles?
Just mention your membership number when making a reservation and at the check-in. It is safer though to keep the original of your travel documents until Miles are credited on your account.

16. Can I get Award Miles with a promotional fare flight?
Award tickets, travel industry reduced fares, free or non-revenue tickets, and non-public fares are excluded from mileage accumulation.
Certain booking classes are also excluded from mileage accumulation, others allow a diminished accrual.

17. Does an award ticket allow miles allocation?
No, you cannot earn miles when travelling with an award ticket.
However, a paid flight upgraded with an award entitles you to earn Award Miles. In that case, the class of travel taken into account for accrual, is the initial class of the paid ticket.

18. I don´t have enough Miles for an award. Is it possible to buy additional Miles?
It is not possible to combine Miles and money for an award request.
However, Flying Blue entitles you to one-way award tickets on Air France and KLM operating flights, starting from 10.000 Award Miles.

20. I have received a Mileage summary by mail, but I have lost it. Can I ask for a copy ?
There is no possibility to issue a duplicate of your mileage summary.
You can check your account online, including the balance of your Miles and your registered activities.

21. Can I choose the language for mails and emails sent by Flying Blue?
Yes, you can choose amongst 6 communication languages (French, English, Dutch, German, Spanish and Italian). The communication languages is based on your country of residence (address given to receive your Flying Blue mailings).

22. Do I receive regular mileage summaries?
A mileage summary is sent out every 2 months by email or by post to all Elite members, and to Ivory members with, at least, one activity registered over the last 2 months.
You can also check your account online at any time (www.airfrance.com or www.klm.com)

23. How can I check if my flight has been credited?
You can check your mileage balance, as well as the last credited activities, on the Internet (www.airfrance.com or www.klm.com).
Just give us 14 days to update your account automatically when you are flying with the SkyTeam.
For other airline partners, the activity is credited within a month.

24. How can I check if the service from a non-airline partner has been credited onto my account?
You can check your mileage balance, as well as the last credited activities, on the Internet (www.airfrance.com or www.klm.com). Please note credits for non-airline partners can take up to a month to appear on your account.

You can update your balance directly online for most Air France and KLM flights (www.airfrance.com or www.klm.com).
For SkyTeam airline partners, just send to your Customer Service Centre a copy of the ticket and the original boarding passes.
Remember to mention your membership number when making a reservation.

26. I did not mention my card number when I made my booking, nor at check-in. What shall I do to have my miles credited?
If it is an Air France or a KLM flight, you may credit your flight on the Internet (www.airfrance.com or www.klm.com), simply by filling in the form with your ticket number. However, you have to wait at least 8 days after your flight to make this online credit.
To get credit for flights on our airline-partners (SkyTeam and others), you simply have to send a copy of your ticket and the original boarding passes to your Customers Service Centre, mentioning your Flying Blue card number.

All claims for retroactive credit should be made within 6 months.

Yes, retroactive credit is allowed if flights have been taken not more than 3 months before enrolment.

No, for all our non-airline partners, credit is only allowed after enrolment.

30. I flew business class but received a credit for economy class ? Can I have this situation updated?
Yes, a class adjustment is possible.
For Air France and KLM flights, you simply have to send a copy of your ticket and of your boarding passes to your Customer Service Centre.
For SkyTeam and airline-partners adjustments, you have to send a copy of your ticket as well as your original boarding passes to your Customer Service Centre.
If you paid for an upgrade, you must also enclose a copy of a payment proof Please note that Miles are credited based on the fare paid.

31. How can I claim Miles from a non airline partner?
Just send the original of your invoice to the Customer Service Centre.
After checking and acceptance from our partner, the Miles will be credited on your account. Give us 2 months for the credit on your account.

32. How can I book an award ticket?
SkyTeam flights can be booked online up to the date of departure.

You can also book an award ticket for the destination of your choice by calling your Customer Service Centre. For all other airline partners, you have to make your reservation at least two weeks in advance.

For most Air France and KLM flights, you will receive an electronic ticket including a trip summary and a receipt.
Then, all you have to do is to present your Flying Blue Card at the check-in counter.

33. What is the Open Miles option?
When no seat is available in the award booking class, you can still* travel for twice the regular amount of Miles thanks to the Open Miles option.
*Providing seat is available. Valid on eligible Air France/KLM flights only.

34. How can I book a non-flight award?
You just have to request for a Flying Blue Award at your Customer Service Centre, at least two weeks in advance.
Upon reception, you have 1 year from the date of issue to book directly with the chosen partner.
All bookings must be made a minimum of 2 weeks in advance .

35. My wife (my husband) has also a Flying Blue account, but she (he) has not enough Miles for an award ticket. Can I transfer some Miles from my account to hers (his)?
No, Miles are not transferable from one account to another. But you can offer an award ticket to the person of your choice. Please note that upgrades and extra baggage awards are only transferable to spouse (or husband) and children.

36. Can I modify an award ticket?

Yes, if the ticket is not issued, any change is possible free of charge.

Once the award ticket is issued, you can change it for against 40€ administrative fees (free of charge if Open Miles award ticket).

  • Before departure: You can change the date and destination (in the same zone)
  • After departure: only the date can be changed.

Please note that a cancellation will require a new booking to be made without delay.
If you cannot make a new booking immediately, you can request to have your ticket reimbursed. Administrative fees of 40 euros are also applicable.

37. What is the validity of an award ticket?
An award ticket is valid 1 year from the date of issue. After this date the ticket is definitively lost (no change or reimbursement possible).

Absolutely : you are allowed to one stop over per international flight, either on outbound or inbound flight.

June 2005. But if you do not have a Frequence Plus or Flying Dutchman account yet, you can enrol Flying Blue from now.

40. What will happen with the miles accumulated on my Fréquence Plus card and/or Flying Dutchman before June 2005?
All miles accumulated with one and/or the other programme will be automatically transferred to your Flying Blue account. Those miles can be redeemed for awards with Air France, KLM and all partners of the new programme.

41. Am I going to lose Miles with this migration?

No, because :

  • 1 Fréquence Plus Mile is equal to one Flying Blue Mile
  • 1 Flying Dutchman Mile is equal to one Flying Blue Mile.

42. Will my account number change?
If you are a member of Fréquence Plus, your Flying Blue number will be the same.
If you are a member of Flying Dutchman, your Flying Blue number will be slightly modified.
If you are a member of both Fréquence Plus and Flying Dutchman programmes, in that case both accounts will be merged.

Yes, you will receive a new Card and the new Guide in May 2005.

Yes, your Miles will be automatically credited accorfing to the conditions of the new program. It is actually the date of your trip which leads to the credit of Miles and not the date of booking.

Yes, but the merging will not be necessarily automatic, and it is possible that you receive two Flying Blue cards. If that should happen, send a copy of both cards to your Customer Service Centre which will merge your two accounts.
If you receive only one Flying Blue card ,but you notice that the total of your Miles is not correct : write to your Customer Service Centre or send an e-mail using the internet websites : www.airfrance.com or www.klm.comDo not forget to give us all your accounts numbers.
